Tree Roots, Fire Ants, Sink Holes and Stumps, Oh My!

Ah, the hazards of Mother Nature. I help every year at a camp for first through sixth grade girls. One summer, a woman posed this question on our feedback form:

"Can’t you do anything about the tree roots? One of our girls tripped and skinned her knee on the way to the pool."
Being the fine upstanding Christian women that we are, we wanted to fix the problem, but we did not quite know what to do or say, so we said,

“Yes ma’am, we’ll just pull down paradise and put up a parking lot."

“Send little Susie to camp at Six Flags next summer.”

"Duh, lady, it’s a camp on the piney woods of Louisiana, what do you expect?”

"She should have been in the cabin where the little girl had head lice."

nothing.

We decided to table the matter until next summer. Maybe we need to invest in a few signs, like the Christmas tree farm has done. You'll have to click on the image to read the warning.
